Karma

Rove to give additional testimony in leak inquiry
Prosecutors won't guarantee that Bush advisor won't be indicted

A moment of silence please.

There's this new show called My Name Is Earl on NBC. Its all about Karma, and how doing good things will result in good things happening to you, and doing bad things means bad things will happen to you.

I believe in Karma, I try to lead a good life, I do right by others, and I hope that they will do right by me, and its moments like this that I believe in Karma the most.

There appears to be a sudden backlash going on with conservatives, Delay, Libby, Rove, Frist, etc... they all seem to be reaping the Karmic windfall for being evil people. Delay the most I hope, because he's so damn arrogant about his indiscretions.

All I have to say is, couldn't have happened to a finer bunch of people, I just hope that those who replace them learn the lesson and try to do the right thing.

What would Jesus do?

GOP plans cuts in food programs, conservation

How is it that the christian conservatives love to spout how much they love Jesus but hate social programs? How this is a christian nation, and that separation of church and state should go away, but then still hate social programs?

If you've read the new testament of the bible, then you know Jesus ain't a bad guy, he hangs out with lepers, talks about how rich people won't get into heaven, how we should care for the least among us, and how the meek will inherit the earth... yet conservatives love tax breaks for the rich, and hate social programs!?!

I don't get it. If you want to have a government that more reflects christianity (a religion based on the teachings of jesus) then you'd think that social programs would be at the top of the list. As a matter of fact you'd think that conservatives would want to tax the hell out of the rich (since they aren't going to heaven anyways) and make sure that the least among us are taken care of.

But they don't.

What it comes down to is bigotry. Almost all who take advantage of social programs are poor, and a large part of them are minorities. There's this sense that taxes punish achievement and social programs rewards laziness, they seem to forget that not everyone using a social program is on it because they are lazy.

Its just frustrating because I don't remember Jesus talking about hating social programs, having hung out with lepers I can't see that happening.

Is this the beginning?

Bush: Military may have to help if bird flu breaks out
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- President Bush said Tuesday that the possibility of an avian flu pandemic is among the reasons he wants Congress to give him the power to use the nation's military in law enforcement roles in the United States.

One of the arguments made in bush's lack of action in the Katrina disaster was that the federal government couldn't over step its bounds by coming in without being asked.

Now the president is looking to get such power, just like he asked congress for the ability to go to war, something he got and then abused.

Its a catch 22 of sorts, we wanted a faster federal response during Katrin but we don't want a federal takeover of the country, but with a possible epidemic of biblical proportions coming, who would say no to this?

And that's where they get you. The fear of an Avian Flu let's them in and suddenly they're on the couch, watching crappy tv and eating your cookies.

I'm not a conspiracy nut, but this all plays like a badly written spy novel. Where's bush's cat?
